My name is Joshua Wingerd, and I have been a lover of words since my earliest days. My favorite days are the ones spent swimming in words or wrangling them into a presentable shape.
My earliest pieces were Star Wars fanfictions. As I matured, I created my own Tolkienesque world, writing four “plays” set in this world. I am slowly transforming the plays into distinctive, full-length novels.
I am slowly producing the fantasy novels because my writing focus shifted gears in 2017. I started a blog and published my first novel that year (a cross between a memoir and a thriller). In 2019, I capitalized on my college training by publishing a Bible commentary. (Both books are linked in my Portfolio.)
Since 2019, I’ve written two whole drafts of both a romance novel and another standalone thriller. I’ve also pecked away at the second volume of my memoir/thriller trilogy.
From 2020-2023, my creative pursuits took the back seat while I focused on my Master’s program. This program enabled me to write a thesis, which taught me much about the importance of careful, quality research.
At present, I am working on the third draft of my romance novel. I am also writing a Bible commentary on 1 John. (Early access to the latter is available for paid subscribers at Nuanced Perspectives.)
There is a mounting army of writing projects in my mind—fiction and nonfiction—all clamoring for release.
